G. M. Choo is an artist cum art collector. He is gifted with talent and interested in painting during his school days. | |
After living for some times in Terengganu, he is influenced by fishing village life and scenery. He studied in Art Institutions and worked for Advertisement Companies. He is able to draw fishing village scenery in batik when inspiration strikes his mind. | |
Mr. Choo has then progressed to draw abstract art. Besides batik paintings, he is also skilful in doing Oil Paintings, Mix Media and Acrylic Paintings. He never stopped painting since then. | |
After many years of hard-work and experience, the artist established an art gallery in Malacca, a town which is declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site. | |
G. M. Choo Art Gallery was in Jalan Tokong, Melaka since 2008. After about 7 years service to the art lovers, Mr. Choo is now at the above address. One of his missions is to promote Malaysian culture through his artistic journey. |

G. M. Choo has joined many Art Associations in Malaysia whereby he would take part in Art Exhibitions and Promotions organized by them, e.g. Malacca Art Association, Malaysia Art & Craft Association, National Art Gallery Malaysia. He has been participating in National Craft Day, Jalan Conley, Kuala Lumpur every year. This is a yearly event organized by Malaysia Art & Craft Association. | |
Moreover, G. M. Choo has also organized a Solo Exhibition “GM CHOO’S ART REVIEW” in December 2010 at TMS Art Gallery, Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur officiated by YB Senator Gan Ping Sieu (Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia). | |
There are many collectors of G. M. Choo’s paintings. One of his paintings was presented to the Chief Minister of Johor who opened Sungai Wellness Ground breaking ceremony on 10/01/2015. |
